How do I turn my Galaxy S3 on if recovery mode fails?

Three apps were auto updated. I restarted the phone. It went through the process and the screen froze; the wallpaper did not load, just colored snow on the screen. I tried rebooting using power button. This failed. Battery was pulled and replaced, power button was pressed and nothing. Tried holding down power, menu and volume up all at once and nothing. Battery pulled again and reinserted. Tried plugging the unit into wall charger. It never responded. The charging indicator never came on.

Can someone advise what to do? Do I use the phone for target practice?

Bring it to your carrier's store and find out if they can reflash it in that store or if they have another nearby store that does it. (You'll lose all data on the phone, so I hope you're the type who keeps important stuff backed up.)
