Is there a way (or best app) to send around 100 text messages at once on my Galaxy s4?

If you do it regularly to the same people, make a group in Contacts and add them all to that group. Then text the group.

I tried that but when I choose groups of contacts my phone limits me to 20 people.

Try other contact apps, like Go Contacts. (Since I've never needed to text many people at once, I've never experimented.) Or try sending the text to 5 groups at once.

I believe all the carriers will limit group texting to minimize spamming (haven't you really noticed we don't get messaging spam like my once very protected personal email account now gets routinely? Lol). You can download other group messaging programs, like GroupMe. Careful of terms and conditions. Pay attention to how information may be viewed, and that who keeps/owns the content. If you are sending information that does not contain business confidential info, it will be fine. GroupMe has a default limit of 30 or so, so once you create a group, you will need to send GroupMe a email requesting the higher number you will need and it's purpose. Their support is awesome.
