double tap to unlock screen is it harmful to sensor?

To wake my LG G3, or make it sleep, only the very gentlest of taps are necessary....if fact, a double touch rather than a double tap. Surely that cannot harm the digitiser.

If your phone manufacturer offers a feature, use it by all means.

Double tap to wake has never had any negative effects on touchscreens from what I've read.

The only negative effect it can have is if you tap the screen too hard and break the glass.
