    It simply refers to the status of it, that is, secure or protected, and accessible by a password.

    You can be connected to a secured wifi signal and you can be not connected to a secured wifi signal. If you're connected, it will say connected under the connection's name.

    You should see a Wifi icon at the top and to make sure, if you go to Settings>wifi, you should see which network you are connected to.
