Images forwarded to my e-mail cannot be read in the e-mail on the Galaxy Tab. Why?

AC Question

The files come in as a data file and the email says it cannot be read. I wonder, do I have to download ANOTHER app just to see images in my e-mail? I wanted to transfer a picture from my laptop (via email) so I could use it as wallpaper on my Galaxy Tab.

It depends on the file. You have to have an app in the phone that can read that file's data format. The phone doesn't read data files, apps in the phone do. Evidently you're sending data in a format you don't have an app to read in the phone. (Send jpg files - most phones read those with the apps that come with them.)
