My Galaxy s3 is taking forever to charge, why?

I turned off all the running apps and lowerd my brightness and even turned it off than pugged in my charger, but i dont know if it is actually going to charge. Will it?

Welcome to the forums. Try a different cord and charger. If that doesn't help, it can be onbe of two things: 1. a bad battery. Try a different one and see if that helps. New ones can be purchased here: ShopAndroid - #1 Store for Android Accessories. 2. It can be a bad USB plug in the phone, in which case, that would have to be replaced. You can check for local repair shops and see how much they charge to do it.
