Why will my galaxy s3 not connect to the 3G?

I have had the mobile data turned off and when I went to turn it back on, it will not connect. I tried to restart the phone but that did not work.

Maybe you have in your settings the option "just GSM", you should check this, if it is, check the option GSM/WCDMA.
