Hi. I have bought a galaxy s3 that only boots to the 'Samsung' screen and sits there indefinitely. If I do 'vol, home, power' and get into recovery, it tells me that the phone is running the stock software. Could this still be a ROM problem and if it is what do I do. I'm not very experienced with Android, so a simple step-by-step guide would be very much appreciated. Thanks Phil

Welcome to the forums. Try clearing the cache partition when you are in recovery and reboot. If that doesn't work, try a reset.

And if that doesn't work you'll need Odin and the ROM for your model phone (not "s3", the model number - i<something> probably) and you'll need to reflash the ROM. Read the S3 section - there are threads here and on XDA's S3 section with various levels of hand-holding.

Thanks for the welcome. I've tried clearing the cache and a reset, but this didn't work. Thanks anyway.
