How to get sound back?

how to get sound back

II lost all sound after accident update and my batt icon is now white. I tried *#0*#, wiped cache and fact reset. Nothing helped. If i plug in headphones i just hear white noise. I have sam gal s3 and currently android 4.4.2. I am not very smart about this stuff. Can someone help me? I

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean an accidental update? Are you rooted?

I have no idea what rooted means. I took my phone out of my pocket and it said something bout updating 50 of 103. Since then i have no sound and my icons are all white now instead of green. I don't know what to do now. I did the *#0*#0 PUSH SPEAKER and nothing happens. I went to backup and reset still nothing. Same with wipe cache. Can u help me?

It sounds like the phone updated to KitKat, but that shouldn't have knocked the sound out. If you already did a system cache partition wipe as well as a factory data reset, I'm not sure what else to try.
