I am looking to buy a new phone but am not sure if I want to stick with Verizon. Are there any phone that will work perfectly on any carrier if I decided to leave Verizon? I was looking and the iPhone seems that it would do what I want....but I do not want one.

Any unlocked phone that works on CDMA and all GSM bands will work with any carrier. You'll usually find that on some of the more expensive phones.

(Look at the specs on GSMArena.com - GSM phone reviews, news, opinions, votes, manuals and more... [the 2G, 3G and 4G numbers] for any phone you're thinking of. The phone has to be capable of handling the frequencies of the carrier you're thinking of using - Wikipedia has a list, by carrier, under cellular frequencies. And it has to be one model, not one for Verizon, one for AT&T, etc. [That's up at the top of the listing - look at the one for the Samsung S5 as an example of what you don't want.])
