Moved Whatsapp media separately to SD Card from my device & it doesn't work.

I moved my Whatsapp images and Videos separately to external SD card as my device memory was getting full. I had done it before and it worked fine however, when I did it this time, it did not work and all my media and DCIM pics now come up as can't open icon on my device. I tried to connect my phone with my windows PC with all the required updates, but it does not work either. I cannot connect my device to my PC with having external card attached to it. I need to retrieve all the date from my SD card. Please help me.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Is it on KitKat? Did you previously do this on a phone that was running Jellybean or earlier? KitKat came with new SD restrictions to make things more secure, so it's possible that WhatsApp can't access those files you moved to the SD card if it didn't create the folder itself.
