Headphone jack is jammed? HELPPP? No sound from speaker but headphones work fine

A

AC Question

I think it is from when I accidentally dropped my phone in the bath. It is dried out now, and working almost perfectly, apart from one thing. I think the earphone jack at the top of the phone is broken, as the speakers don't work at all and the earphones work fine, even when I take the headphones out the phone is stuck on the headphone setting. HELPPP?

Welcome to Android Central! How did you dry the phone? Did you use the uncooked rice in a bag trick?

In any case, water damage can occur to any number of components in the phone. It's likely that some connection or circuit related to your headphone jack got damaged from the water immersion. It'll be hard to determine where the fault is, unless you bring it to a repair shop, and even then, they might not be able to tell. They could try replacing the jack, but if the problem lies elsewhere, then you will have spent money on an unnecessary repair.
