Would you be willing to post some pictures? I believe you, and would like to see some.

I've seen a lot of complaints about that from people using cases but none from people going "naked." I don't know if that's because it's not as common without cases or if people without a case just assume they'll get some scratches.

Either way, aluminum does scratch easily. They use it on the edges just to make the phone stronger.

Polished aluminum is VERY soft - 2-3 out of 10 (for diamond). About like copper. Aluminum oxide OTOH (the flat, whitish stuff that polished aluminum gets on its surface when it's weathered) is about 9 - which is why aluminum is used where weathering is a factor. Instead of rusting (hardness about 2.5-3.5), aluminum gets a very hard coating when it weathers.

But the underlying non-oxidized aluminum - like that on a phone - isn't much harder than wood pulp. It looks nice, but it's not practical. If they chromed it, it would look the same (but probably cost a bit more) but have a hardness of about 8.5, which would resist scratches from most things. Even chromium over plastic, without the aluminum, would look as nice and be as scratch-resistant. (It actually takes something like tungsten carbide to scratch chromium.)

U making my head hurt... Lol all I know is the other Samsung phones S3 etc did not scratch as easily... But this supposed to be the all mighty note and scratches all over the casing... No cute!!! And for the cost of the note 4 it's should have the resistance of titanium or some other indestructible metal!!
