I keep hearing this notification sound - which is NOT any of the available notification sounds, I checked that whole list twice and none are this sound - dozens of times a day, sometimes several within a few seconds. There's no corresponding message or light. It's a low-key sort of sound, four tones in very quick succession like A-B-C-A (where A is lowest in tone, C highest, but they're all close) and the whole sound is over in less than a second. I know it isn't any of the e-mail or social media or messaging apps, it's not roaming/network/battery notifications as far as I can tell... Nothing in the list of running apps really seems to be an obvious culprit, but I can't tell. I don't want to go through and kill every running app, especially because the timing of the notification seems random to me.

Welcome to Android Central! Could it be NFC? Maybe it's detecting something else with an NFC chip nearby.
