    Need to know what function PRI performs in the smartphone.

    I assume you mean PRL. The PRL basically tells the phone what towers it can roam onto.

    It is specific to CDMA phones. On GSM devices (AT&T/T-Mobile in the US) the information is saved on the SIM card. In both cases this info is updated automatically by the carrier.

    No. I am very familiar with PRLs. I meant PRI - I think it refers to the data protocol of the Verizon NW but I would like to know if anyone on the Forum knows more about it.
