I have a google nexus 4 which is about a year and a half old. 3 days ago the display started going strange - lots of vertical white stripe and then a white screen, which was solved by me holding down the power button to reboot.
However, a few hours later it turned itself off and didn't turn on again. I've been charging it for the last 2 days with flashing red lights, some blue lights, lots of different button combos to get it to reboot and sometimes the screen attempting to light up but going a cloudy grey. Absolutely no display on any occasion.
Now it turns on and I can sort of access it because I hear the volume go up and down and also blindly get past my keypad unlock, because I can hear it unlocking so the touchscreen is still working, but still no display.
Do I just need to replace the backlight? I feel like I might be able to do this.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thank you
