Can an aux cable be used as an alternative to an antenna for a phones radio?

So I want to use both my radio and my GPS from my phone in my car. I know that the radio on my phone only works with earphones. However, I was wondering of it can work with an aux cable. If I have an aux cable, I can have a GPS and radio in my car at the same time without pressing any radio buttons in my car. If it's OK, can someone try to test their aux cable to play radio from their phone to their car? I don't know if I should order something online for an experiment.
