Why didn't my calendar sync on my Samsung Galaxy S4?

calendar app on samsung galaxy s4

calendar that is pre loaded on samsung galaxy s4 phone. the calendar didn't sync. i have lost alot of info. and need help to find out if it is truly gone. ATT says google server was/is having a sync issue. we even
got an error code that the server was unavailable. has that been resolved?
i still think its terrible that ATT techs at the stores do not have the proper equipment to transfer info from phone to phone. alot of us non techy people don't know what to look for and depend on them to know.

When you go into the Google Calendar (on Desktop or App) are there your Calendar Events? If yes you don't lost them and can import/sync it back to your Samsung Calendar (S Planner)
