Why won't my Galaxy Tablet 10.1 stay on?

My Galaxy Tablet 10.1 will not stay on.

After entering password on screen it flashes a green line at bottom once.. then switches to a dark screen. After 20 seconds or so it will start again on its own only to cycle the same way again every 20-30 seconds.

I cannot access the tablet at all.

Are you able to boot into Recovery? From there you could perform a Cache Partition wipe or even, if your personal data is backed up, a Factory or Master Reset. I don't know that either procedure would fix the problem, but you may consider them worth trying. This site has a useful how-to if you're not sure:

No ...the bl**dy thing gets to the password screen or just beyond (to first desktop) then goes into this infuriating loop of dark screen, re start, desktop, dark screen...and will continue to do this ad infinitum....

Grrr.
