My Nexus 4 broke, the same day I bought a nexus 7. My phone was replaced with a new one.
When I set up my nexus 7 running Android lollipop, I was able to restore everything from my Nexus 4 backup that broke, including apps.
When I set up my new replaced Nexus 4 running Kitkat 4.4.4, I did not find a similar option to restore my apps.
How can I restore my apps on the Nexus 4?

There wasn't an option to restore the backup in the setup screens?

Maybe rename the new N4 as another device on Google's device manager / Play Store. I had a slightly similar issue but forget for the moment which worked.

Just received an OTA update to Lollipop. After I've updated I've reset my phone to factory settings and was able to restore from my Nexus 7. Now all my apps are on my Nexus 4.
