Why does photo visible in Kies not do anything?

Galaxy S3 - I backed up photos to Kies. When I right click on a photo and try to open it, a notification says "Preparing to show photo(s)" but then closes with nothing happening. When I try to save to pc nothing happens. When I try to drag and drop the photo again nothing happens. It's as if the photo which I can actually see in front of me in Kies does not actually exist. Any help would be much appreciated.

The file got corrupted? It was corrupted in the phone already? It's a file type you have no program to open. Many possibilities.

Ah you mean only on the pc.
Try FS Viewer for Windows.

It may be a limitation with Kies, I will try mine later (about 6 miles from Chiswick!).
Are you trying to save, or drag and drop only from Kies.

I always drag and drop via usb, bypassing Kies.
