That depends. If it's a bad cable or connector, not much. If it's a broken LCD layer on the screen, a bit. If it's a cracked motherboard, a lot. The only way to tell is to open the phone and see what's wrong, and you have to bring it to a repair shop to get that done. Depending on what the phone sells for, it may or may not pay to have it repaired. (A $90 phone? It'll cost more to fix than a new one. A $500 phone? Get it fixed.)
