I'm hoping I can get some help I came from a iphone 6 to a Sony experia z3 I loved the jailbreakong feature on ios but I'm trying to figure out rooting my experia z3 I downloaded xmodgames tried using the easy root feature/king root on their but it's all in Japanese/Chinese and I can't understand a thing I also tried kingo android root which it automatically does it as long as usb debugging is checked in developer tools but it keeps saying waiting for phone when connected can someone kk please help

Have you installed the driver in the computer? Sony eSupport - Drivers & Software Updates

Or, if your kernel is dated earlier than June 3, 2014 (Sewttings/General/About device) you can try Towel Root. It's an app, so you won't need a computer to root.

Go to Settings>About device. The Kernel has it's own heading, and the build date is in there.

Too late for Towel Root - it can't root with kernels after June 3, 2014. Check the Sony section over at XDA to see if anyone has come up with a root exploit for that phone yet.

So I'm confused is rooting available for Sony xperia or not and does my phone need to be unlocked from carier? Every attempt I made to root fails
