Can I replicate the Nook using parental controls?

Elderly parental controls

My 88 year old mother loves to read. Went to Barnes & Noble looking for a Nook reader. The available readers fit the bill as their only Wifi access is to Nook.
Unfortunately they are only offered in black and white. The color offerings have been ported to Android tablets. Is it possible to replicate this Nook only access using parental controls?

Welcome to Android Central! So you want to get your mother an Android tablet, and make the interface simplified so that she can only access Nook? You might want to try something like BIG Launcher.
