    Thinking bout buying a Galaxy Note 4 without a contract and using it on a Pay as you Go program rather than getting stuck on a 2 year contract. HELP!!

    That may be a better question for either a Metro PCS or Cricket location.
    Every situation, phone and carrier are different.

    Different models work on different frequencies - "unlocked" only means that it won't reject a SIM card from another carrier, it doesn't add frequencies.

    Cricket uses AT&T towers, so if you buy an unlocked (or locked, most likely) AT&T Note 4 it will work on Cricket.

    MetroPCS uses TMobil towers, so if you want to use MetroPCS, get a TMobil Note 4.

    If you're using the wrong phone, you'll get voice and text, but depending on where you are you might get very slow data.

    Sprint only activates Sprint phones. It's their method of "locking" the phone.
