whats wrong with my tablet?

I was watching a video on my cbs sports app and my tablet turned on sleep mode because i did not touch the screen for a while and when i turned the screen back on it went to my password screen like usual but the problem is i enter my password but the screen is not taking that i am even touching it and i cant turn it off becuase my screen is not scensing i am touching it. What do I do?

Have you tried that useful remedy, a Soft Reset....in other words, Power Off the phone followed by Restart?

Long press the power button to simulate a battery pull. See if that helps.
