Using ES File Explorer, looked through all the folders and don't see where the gallery photos are stored. Must be missing something?

    Thanks!

Thanks Madd. The Camera folder under DCIM contains only a few of the approx 4,000 photos in the gallery. Just realized I need to tap Camera again and go to ext SD card to get the rest. But now I don't see any way to move a pic from there to a folder contained in internal memory. Do I need to first move it back to internal memory and then to the folder?

Gallery looks in the Media Scan database to locate pictures. Media Scanner locates them wherever they are on the phone. Gallery doesn't have a folder it keeps pictures in. They should, by convention, be in DCIM (Digital Camera IMages - it's industry standard), but they can be anywhere.

Aside from the KitKat problem of some apps not being able to write to some folders, you can move any file to any folder in one shot.
