    i have the htc evo v 4g 3d...great phone but apps i'm not using constantly restart...bye bye battery life. can i disable things like maps or facebook that i'm not using, without losing them for good? thanks in advance for any guidance you can send my way

    Welcome to Android Central! Remember that apps are supposed to start automatically--it's how Android handles RAM:

    There are many preinstalled apps you can Disable--it won't cause any irreversible problem, because you can always re-enable the app. Just don't disable Download Manager, because then you'll have problems downloading files or installing other apps.

    Facebook and Google Maps are certainly safe to Disable.
