    , I press on Power Off soft button on the screen but the display seems to be frozen. I can't unlock the screen either (simple swipe), it looks like my display does not respond to touch control anymore

    Welcome to Android Central! You can force a power off by pressing and holding the Power button for about 15-20 seconds. Then boot into Recovery and try wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-14686
