Why isn't my T-Mobile Galaxy S5 hot spot connect to my Google Chromebook laptop?

my tmobile galaxy s5 hot spot won't connect to my Google chromebook laptop

Every time I try connecting my mobile hot spot to my Google chromebook it says it is "out of range" and won't connect

Your Chromebook connects to your hotspot, not the other way. Since the Chromebook isn't acting as a wifi access point, it's out of range (to everything in the universe).
