Why is my Samsung Note 4 stating that messages has stopped?

Why is my samsung note 4 stating that "messages has stopped"

I can not send text messages because it keeps stating messages has stopped. It will receive a message but it will not send.

How can i fix this. I need help.

Try Settings, Apps, All, scroll to the Messaging app, and select Clear Cache. Power Off and Restart the phone.
