How do I stop the Messenger app from automatically saving photos to my samsung s3

my friend sent me a photo in messenger so i clicked to save it...something popped up asking if i wanted to save photos automatically and i think i clicked it but now i cant find the photo on my phone (galaxy s3) and really want to stop it from doing it automatically...how do i undo that option so i can just save what i want to? Please help!!

Unless there's a setting in the app's Settings to change that, open the app in Application manager and Clear data. (You may lose all your messages [depending on whether the app syncs after clearing or not] so back them all up first if you want to keep them.)

In the messenger app go to settings, there's an option there to turn on or off "Save photos to..."
