    i have a samsung galaxy s4
    i bought it second hand off of a friend it has been rooted what does this mean? and does it benefit me?

    Rooting gives you access to the Operating System - in this case, Google Android OS - so that you can make changes to it to suit your own purposes. If you are a fairly ordinary user, you will probably not feel the need for it, and it may lead to some difficulties for you, such as with system updates. It also has the disadvantage that, in most cases, it voids the device manufacturer's warranty. If you prefer to unroot the phone....read this guide about that by UJ95x:
