I have moved from a Samsung S4 to HTC One M8. With the Samsung you could place a picture (say the size of the weather panel) on top of you wallpaper. This was fab as I could have my favourite picture of loved ones always on show and not cluttered by icons as it would be if I made the picture into a wallpaper.
Despite searching for hours I have not found how to do this on the HTC and assume that as both are Android it is possible to do.
    Can anyone help

Samsung has Touchwiz while HTC has Sense skins over the top of android. I guess, manufacturers add / remove certain features of android while designing their skins. I had M7 previously and I guess it didn't have somethign of this sort. May be you can use some widget from playstore that can do the same thing for you.

    Thanks,
