Did overheating damage your galaxy s3's charging port?

My galaxy s3 overheated maybe half a dozen times. Suddenly it stopped charging effectively (like it was at half strength), eventually not acknowledging the charger at all. I tried a different battery and other chargers and/or cables. Nothing.

I am using an external charger now, as that is the only way to charge my phone. It works great otherwise.

Has this happened to anyone else? My phone is not rooted and using kitkat.

As your thread title suggests, I think you'd do well to get the USB port checked.
