Why won't my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 turn on?

my Samsung Galaxy tab2 10.1 won't turn on even with power and volumne buttons

I cannot get it to boot up even when pressing the power button and either or both of the volumne buttons. I put in a new battery. When I plug in the charger, which works on my other Samsung Galexy Tab2 10.1, after about 5 seconds it displays an empty battery on the screen with no charging showing and then the screen goes blank. The day before it worked fine.
Do I need to just take it out and shoot it or is there hope?

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you get the new battery? Are you certain it was connected correctly? How long did you try to charge it up before trying to turn it on? Leave it plugged into a wall outlet for at least 12 hours before trying.

I bought the battery through a supplier in China and it appears to be a Samsung. It has the same identical label as the original battery. I left it on charge overnight. I double checked the connector to make sure that it was snapped in correctly.

It's always possible the battery is defective or counterfeit. Do you have any equipment to test it?

I have another Tab 2 that works fine. I'll try its battery to see if that works.
