I took some photos and videos and they were fine and then a day later some had disappeared with a broken photo icon and others were half grey/half photo. After updating to latest Verizon Note 3 update everything is gone and when I plug sd card into my pc it tells me the disk is not formatted and do I want to format it. I formatted it before I put it into the phone. I'm using a sandisk 256gb sd card. Anyone have a solution (s)?

Welcome to Android Central! That's unfortunate. SD cards can be prone to corruption, and it seems to be especially common on Samsung devices. Very large SD cards may be more liable--the specs say that it can support up to a 64 GB card, which means they either didn't test it with a 256 GB card, or encountered more problems with such a large card.

Unfortunately, the photos may be all lost. You can try using programs like DiskDigger or PhotoRec to try recovering them.
