Where did my old texts goon my LG Optimus L70?

I am new to the touch screen and android phone world. I've had my phone since December 3, 2014. I was going through my conversations with my now ex, and I noticed that there were alot missing. Anything older than two (2) weeks is not showing. I did not delete them, so where did they go and how do I get them back?

Welcome to Android Central! If people don't delete old text messages, they can build up quite a bit and use up a significant chunk of internal storage, which is especially important in phones like yours that don't have much storage to begin with. The app might have an option to automatically delete texts older than a specified time period. Open Messaging, tap Menu, and see if you can find a setting like that.
