Samsung Galaxy avant screen dim and hard to see

Has anyone with this phone noticed that this phones display seems dim and is hard to see especially outdoors. I just got this phone for metropcs because it had good specs. The phone has a TFT lcd screen, which seems like an outdated technology. I'm wondering if I should exchange my phone for a cheaper phone that has an IPS display. Ive seen that the cheaper phones have IPS displays with lower PPI. for example the LG F60 has an IPS display with 207 ppi and my phone has a TFT display with 245 PPI. Should I go for the cheaper phone with a 207 PPI IPS screen or keep my phone with the 245 PPI TFT screen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! I assume the screen is already cranked up to 100%, or is set to Automatic Brightness, correct?
