Welcome to Android Central! Why do you think you need it? Rooting in itself isn't particularly risky, but the things you can do while rooted can be, especially if you don't know what you're doing. You can unwittingly delete a crucial system app, or install a custom ROM that is totally incompatible with your phone (and turn it into a nice paperweight).
