    new gear S on tmobile. Phone is a Note Edge. Phone pairs, watch works great. If I leave the phone Bluetooth disconnects and call forwarding activates....as it should. Upon returning to phone, Bluetooth reconnects as it should. Yet if I restart phone or watch, once the Bluetooth disconnects it will not reconnect. Have to manually re-pair phone.

    Why will it re-connect when I return to the phones range but won't reconnect upon a restart?

    I had the same issue, and resetting the gear or unpairing and re pairing did not work.

    I uninsulated installed Samsung Gear from my Edge, then reset the Gear S, and set everything up again.

    Now it connects within seconds to Bluetooth.

    Finally, this worked for me:

    1. Turn off bluetooth on Phone
    2. Goto Settings>Application Manager>Click on 3 dots>Show system app
    3. Find Bluetooth App
    4. Forcestop/Clear cache
    5. Restart Phone

    Gear S2 is re-connecting by itself and no drop.
