I have a VyprVpn on my Note 8.0 (android 4.2.2). My physical location is Canberra, Australia and I was using the VPN's Melbourne server. On using Google in Chrome and Firefox browsers for standard searches I noticed at the bottom I location is recorded. In Firefox the location was Sydney, in Chrome the location was Canberra. This is puzzling as I assumed a VPN would give my location consistent with their server (this case Melbourne).

I contacted VyprVPN who said I should switch off all location access, including GPS (although the problem has occurred with GPS off). They also said I should rename my network (adding no_map to the name). This would presumably prevent me from using Maps. Finally I had trouble renaming the network on my laptop - I could change the service name but not the SSID name.

    Any suggestions?

Also when using the Malaysia or Perth servers the browser gave United States as my location; when using Luxembourg server it simply said "Unknown".
