When I unlock my phone, my WiFi automatically turns itself on. This just randomly started today. I use a OnePlus One on CyannogenMod 11.

Must be an app that recently updated and is doing it in the background. I don't really feel like going through them and uninstalling each one until I find it.

Just in case. Go to settings, WiFi, tap on the three dots and select advanced. Make sure that the option "scanning always available" is off.

In that screen, what's your setting for "keep WiFi on while sleep"?

Good idea, but yes, I have that turned off.

Also I have been playing with the sleep setting and right now it is set to only when plugged in

Set it to always (that's the option I usually have) and see if there's a difference.

Also noticed that it is not technically whenever the phone is unlocked but whenever it wakes up. (If I pull down the quick settings after I wake it up but while the phone is locked I can see the WiFi turn on)

There're not many apps that can do that. Tasker could be one but you would remember having this kind of apps. Other one would be an antivirus, switching WiFi on as an antitheft feature. Check the settings of any app with this kind of security feature.

Fixed! I downloaded "permissions explorer" and started uninstalling apps that have "CHANGE_WIFI_STATE" until I found it. Turns out this is supposed to be a "feature" on the "Straight Talk My Account" app.

There actually are quite a bit of apps that have this permission.

Glad you managed to fix it. Thanks for the follow up, it'll help other people with the same problem.

I didn't know about that searching app. I'll check it out.
