Why did my phone shut down and wouldn't come back on?

why did my phone shut down and wouldnt come back on, it was only had it 2 months???

would anyone know what this might be a defect maybe?

There are many possibilities....battery drained, battery failure, or one of many possible internal failures. Give it a good charge - for 24 hours if you think the battery may be completely drained - then try restarting. Don't be afraid to press the power button for a minute or two when trying to restart.
