    The phone was working satisfactorily except the vibration function, which was iffy. Yesterday, the system got upgraded to Android 5. The first thing I observed thereafter was that the volume seemed muted. Using hit & trial method, I found the equaliser was set to vocaliser. Sensing that to be the problem, I turned off the equaliser. I found the volume had started functioning normally.
    Since this morning, however, the phone is muted despite all efforts including switching off/on twice and playing around with equaliser settings. Nothing has worked.

    Help please.

    Welcome to Android Central! Try wiping the cache partition. Since the steps apparently changed slightly with Lollipop, follow these steps for the Moto X, which should work on the G as well: https://motorola-global-portal.custh...he%20partition
