Why does my Moto G keep telling me that I can't accept photo edits?

why does my motoG keep telling me can' t accept photo edits

I click on photo in gallery. Box appears on photo. Move to center photo & click on done. Cannot accept photo edits & spinning circle appear

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the stock Gallery app, or the Photos app (the one with the pinwheel icon)? Are you trying to edit a photo that is stored locally, or in the cloud? If it's local, is it on an SD card (i.e., if you have the Moto G that has an SD card slot)?
