What's 'broke', the battery or the lead?

A

AC Question

I got my Galaxy S3 just before going back to college in September and everything was fine. A few months ago it started to lose power while charging so I figured the lead was useless and used a different lead that charged my phone properly. My phone is now losing power while charging and charging really slow (I turn it off when I go to sleep). When I turned it off last night it had 2% battery because of this problem and when I turned it on this morning it only had 52% battery and was down to 38% battery within 10 minutes even though it was still charging.

Is this happening because there is something wrong with the battery?

Thanks,
Chloe.

It sounds like a battery problem. Since batteries are not expensive, it would be worth buying a new one....make sure you get a high-quality one however.
Also, take a look at the battery....if it's bulging, or if you can lay it flat and spin it, it's bad....don't put it back in the phone like that. But even if it's undistorted, it may still be bad.
