When i first plugged in a non-oem charging cable, a menu came up warning me about using a non approved charging cable and giving me the option to either charge anyways or not to. I chose not to, but after reading about the rational behind it I'd much rather be able to have the flexibility, it has become a major problem on outdoor trips.

Now when I plug in a non-oem cable it simply gives me a message that it is not charging, but now I can't find any information on how to change the setting back to allow it to charge anyway.

    Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps, tap Menu, and Reset All App Preferences. Not sure if this will work, but it's worth a try.
