My new Droid Maxx battery only lasts 18 hours, shouldn't it last 48 hours?

New Droid Maxx and the battery only lasts 18 hours.

I got the Droid Maxx because it is supposed to have a 48 hour battery life. Fully charged my phone tells me it will last 18 hours and I am lucky to get through the day without charging. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Re: New Droid Maxx and the battery only lasts 18 hours.

See if they'll replace the battery.

Then fully charge it before turning the phone on. Turn the phone on and use it until the phone tells you to recharge. Do that for 3 full charge/discharge cycles (charging with the phone off). It'll take about a week before the battery starts giving you its normal use (about 7-10 charge/discharge cycles).

From then on, don't let the battery drop below 40% charge if you want it to last. (48 hours is from 100% to about 5%, which is good for battery manufacturers but bad for the battery. You'll be replacing the battery about every 6 months if you do that. It's not Motorola's fault, it's how lithium batteries work.)
