S5 updated on Tuesday, used 7GB of data in 2 days. Normally used less than 2GB in the whole billing cycle. Also battery life is horrible

    Hey, I work for AT&T.

So what happened was, after the firmware push, "Smart network switch" was switched on. Don't ask me how or why it did but it did which is causing people's WiFi to constantly disconnect. So when you thought you were on WiFi, really you were switching between that and mobile data.

The fix? Turn off Smart network switch and your WiFi will stay connected. Hope that helps you out!

This issue seems to happen with a lot of S5's lately... for some an update to their router's firmware helped, but for a lot only turning the 'smart switch' off is the only thing keeping them from connecting back and forth from WiFi (the constant switching also doesn't help battery life)
